ADATA
350X CF Card from NewEGG
So I have been interested in the new ADATA CF card which is claimed to run at
350X speeds, and also claims over 40MBs write times. So i headed over to
Newegg to see what the cost would be for the 16GB model.

So I got out the Dell 9100 and the SYBA CF-to-IDE adapter and began to run
some tests. I was surprised at the results, and angry at first:

Note: This card is listed as "supporting" UDMA Mode6 and ATA/133, this might be
the reason the tests showed what they did.

So you can see that this card
does not test any faster than the Transcend 300X 16GB card. I thought I
was ripped off at first, then I put the card into my desktop adapter and saw the
same thing. What I realized is that this card is most likely limited by
the adapter running in UDMA Mode5 and ATA/100. It would be nice to get a
hold of a UDMA6 ATA/133 adapter to see if this would make a difference.
For right now, this card does
not have an adapter capable of running this card at full speed, so there is no
way to tell if this card is any faster than a 300x. Maybe someone will
make an adapter sometime soon.
